Perfecting our Holiness

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. – 2 Corinthians 7:1

The word of God assures us that we shall be made completely holy.  In this world there is a boundary line for everything, and there is an end to all things.  But only for holiness there is no end, no limitation.  He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.   And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.(Rev 22:11-12).

How should we live in this world?  Live in high status.  You must be raised to a good position; your children’s life should be blessed.  Yes, you desire for all these good things for your life.  But primarily you must aim at leading a holy life.  Yes, you must always aspire to become more and more holy, become more pure at heart.

There must be a craving in your heart for purity and holiness.  This desire makes you holy and pure.  This is also the desire of God.  In fact God has called you for a life of holiness.   For this is the will of God, even your sanctification that ye should abstain from fornication: (1Thes 4:3).  For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.(1Thes 4:7).

When you desire to become whole in purity, you must have fear of God in you.  Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.(2Cor 7:1).  Without the fear of God a person cannot grow in holiness.

Anyone who fears God will always keep away from the evil desires of the flesh.  The transgression of the wicked said within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.(Ps 36:1)  Observe the life of Joseph.  The secret of his protection from evil is the fear of God. When he was tempted to commit sin, Joseph understood that he is not committing sin against men, but against God who sees all things at all times and that fear protected him from sin.

But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth(1 Occurrence)  not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;   There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?(Gen 39:8-9).
Just like Joseph in all your actions, consider that you are not doing against man, but you are committing your actions to God.   With the fear of God when you determine to safeguard your holiness, God defiantly will protect you and keep you away from such circumstances.

Look at Daniel’s life.  Babylon was known to be a city of fornications.  Daniel was taken there as captive.  But Daniel feared God and offered himself to lead a holy life.  But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.(Dan 1:8-9).
Our God is absolutely holy and he expects you to live a holy life.
May god bless You
